Single Review: “Sweet Gravity” by Due West

April 25, 2008

By request comes the recent single from unsigned band Due West. When you first see  these guys you may think southern rock/country or hard rock/country, but when you listen to this song you get a whole new perspective of who these guys could become in the country music world. “Sweet Gravity” has a nice romantic feel to it that is smooth, attractive, and  actually quite effective.

The song has a man who has dreamed most of his life of leaving the town he grew up in. However, things changed and he let a girl who keep him from going very far. This understanding that his feelings for her seem to keep him from going very far is symbolized by non other than the strength of gravity. So despite how prepared he has been to leave and how long he has dreamed of it, he find he is meant to be in with the woman he loves in the town he has hated for so long. Through the use of impressive songwriting and soft and well exercised vocals the trio pull of a nice romantic, modern country sound. it defiantly proves that these guys defiantly deserve some credit and a record deal to help them get out there.

For those who wish to hear the song and get a free download for a limited time, visit the boys’ blog at the link below for “listen”.

Hey, I’m a die hard metal head, and I actually dig Due West. It’s a travesty that they remain unsigned!

Due West has released a new song, “Everything is Beautiful- Tyson’s Song.” The song and video are available on the Due West blog. The song is a tribute to Tyson Busenbark, an 18 year old young man who recently lost his battle with cancer. The song is from Tyson to his mother, and will surely bring comfort to any one who has felt the pain of a loved one fighting for his or her life.
