Single Review: “Here” by Rascal Flatts

September 3, 2008

After the nightmare of their previous release, “Bob That Head”, this is a breath of fresh air from the trio. Although this song is far from greatness, in fact to put it plainly this song is a mid-tempo remake of “Bless the Broken Road”, it is pretty well conceived.

The Flatts boys have recently gotten into more mushy and overdone material. This song returns to the greatness of such songs as “Broken Road”, “Feels Like Today”, and “These Days”. It is among probably one of the more memorable tracks from their current album and even if it falls on def ears it is a ray of sunshine in a dark alley for these boys considering their most recent releases. Not the best work they’ve ever done, but its one step forward to help make up for the steps backwards that their current album has forced them to take and with a hits package on the way in October its nice to here a hit worthy tune again. Welcome back boys, welcome back.
