Chuck Wicks, Julianne Hough and Jewel Join Dancing With the Stars

February 16, 2009

Late last year Julianne Hough decided she was going to leave her breakthrough role as dance partner to celebrities on the surprise hit show “Dancing With The Stars” on ABC. The new season, however, will be welcoming back their resident country star for at least one more go at the show as she teams up with her celebrity boyfriend and fellow country newcomer Chuck Wicks for the new season in 2009.

Chuck is not the first country star to join the show, and is not the last. Billy Ray Cyrus and Sara Evans both did time on the program and another popular country sensation, Kellie Pickler, has expressed a great deal of interest in the show for future seasons. For those of you who don’t know how the show works, a group of celebrities are all paired up with professional dancers to compete against each other week after week trying to earn the highest judges scores performing different dance styles. In the end the viewers will decide who wins, much like American Idol.

Wicks and Hough will be joined by another country star, well cross-over country star, Jewel. The once pop-singer turner country girl will be competing the the show as well but, unlike her fellow country stars, she will compete against her significant other Ty Murrey who will be competing as well. The show will premier on Monday March 9, 2009 and will continue on Mondays every week from then on with Tuesday night results shows. So if this fits your fancy tune in to cheer on the newest representatives of country music in the hit show “Dancing With The Stars”
