Single Review: “She’s Country” by Jason Aldean
Jason Aldean kicks off his run towards his third album with what has become a trademark offering from him as a first single from his projects. Once again, as with “Hicktown” and “Johnny Cash”, Jason releases a country/rock mix dedicated to the country way of life.
This time around it’s a little different. In what is sure to become a popular anthem among cowgirls everywhere, Jason speaks to the women of country fandom by describing a stereotypical country girl rebel in this loud and rowdy tune. When one looks past the many cliches and unneeded vocal add-ins in between verses that Jason throws in for spice the song isn’t actually half bad. What takes away from it however is its inability to contend with Jason’s other material. While this song does continue an ongoing traditional offering from Aldean, it fails to really help carry the same power that his other rock/country tunes have in the past. It’s fun and entertaining, but that’s about it, not much of anything new.

Offensive!! I bet y’all don’t even know what he’s talkin bout, do ya? He’s talking bout how perfect a country girl is and how proud that girl should be of her origins. And you can’t go sayin it ain’t new cause as long as its good music, who cares?
