Single Review: “Ride” by Martina McBride

November 2, 2008

From her forthcoming album ladies and gentleman i give you the best of Martina McBride. While “Ride” may not seem like it fits the standard of a classic Martina hit at first, this powerhouse hit comes full on as an entertaining and enjoyable single to shift from the delicate tone of her last album Waking Up Laughing.

There really isn’t much wrong with this song at all. Martina’s vocals a more pure and sincere than ever, everything is put out on the table instead of held back and artistically expressed as she has been doing, it makes you want to crank up the radio which is an effect Martina has not had in a while, on the same note it rekindles her as an entertainer, and it shows of a cliche message of enjoying the ride of life without actually being cliche.

It has been a long time sense I could confidently say this about any artist in Martina’s position, but I believe Martina has a #1 hit on her hands that could help bring her back to the diva status she once held a few years ago.

Grade: A+
