The guitar, one of music’s most significant and entertaining instruments. Only the most dedicated artists can truly master the feeling and power that this instrument adds to a song. Whether it be and electric guitar with powerful high pitched quality, or an acoustic guitar that captures the more peaceful and meaningful  aspects of the lyrics the guitar has become one of the most popular instruments in the country music genre, especially in more recent days with the dawn of what people could consider some of the most talented guitar God’s in the industry. Some songs are played as instrumentals, showing off the talent of the player, and some are played as solos or in the background along side the lyrics. Either way the guitar has made its mark on country music in both today and yesterday. This countdown marks down the 25 greatest guitar songs in the genre which all contain aspects from peaceful picking that brings out the lyrics, to hard core and memorable solos and instrumentals, and even simple riffs that have paved the way for potential guitar players in the future. This countdown was inspired by Rolling Stones list of the 100 Greatest Guitar Songs of all time, but considering the fact that country music has only recently begun to incorporate hard core guitar playing in with its music, this list has been narrowed down to 25.
