Some Hearts50 Greatest City, State, And Town Songs: #25

“I Ain’t In Checotah Anymore” by Carrie Underwood

Album: “Some Hearts”

Chart Peak: N/A (unreleased)

City, State, or Town: Checotah, Oklahoma

It’s not secret that American Idol’s biggest star and country music’s most successful new artist in years hails from the small town of Checotah, Oklahoma. As the closing track to her album, before the bonus track “Inside Your Heaven”, Carrie takes a look at how her life has changed sense she won the most popular show on television and rose to the big guns and began to shift her lifestyle to that of big cities and crowded streets. If there was any artist to put your town on the map, Carrie would be it, and in full justice she says thanks to her hometown by looking back on her younger days as compared to the chaos that comes with her new found success.

In a neat twist on the famous “we’re not in Kansas anymore”, Carrie sings a fabulous song about where she grew up and how her life has changed sense then. It begins with a soft reminiscence of the simple things and then goes to a much faster pace in which she goes into great deal about how her life is so much more chaotic now. She explains how she misses the simple enjoyments of her small town country life, including cow tipping and Wal Mart, but realizes that her career has taken her to a new level and she’s not that small town girl that no-one knew anymore. Now she’s a high class country superstar who has to put up with the big cities and sophisticated lifestyles of Hollywood and New York.

It’s very appropriate for Carrie to sing about her hometown. She wants it to be known and respected and with her reputation there is no better way to bring it to the spotlight than to advertise it as your hometown. Carrie has become one of the biggest selling artists of the century and by far the biggest new artist in many years of the genre. For a town as small as Checotah to be part of that is amazing and bring it up there in the world. Thanks to Carrie, the small town where she enjoyed her childhood and became the girl she is has been renewed with a new sense of pride.

Unquestionably believe that which you said.

Your favorite justification seemed to be on the internet
the simplest thing to be aware of. I say to you, I certainly get annoyed while
people think about worries that they plainly do not know about.
You managed to hit the nail upon the top as well as defined out
the whole thing without having side effect , people could take
a signal. Will probably be back to get more. Thanks
