Single Review: “Let Me Love You” by Lonestar

April 6, 2008

After the departure of lead singer Richie McDonald I’m sure many people never expected the band to return to its prime. Well those who had expectations of a fall are wrong. The group returns off of their new home at cO5 Nashville with new lead singer Cody Collins who, dare I say, has a much purer sounding voice and a more modern performance quality than Richie.

This song keeps to Lonestar’s pop/country twist and sounds natural enough that you’d never know they were gone and serves a sort of another debut hit from the band because this truly is a new act that has evolved from what used to be one of the most significant groups in the genre before it fell victim to their record labels poor attempt at helping them “fit in”.
