Single Review: “The Song In My Head” by Julianne Hough

March 4, 2008

I don’t know what it is about this time of year but country music seems to step it up a notch as the warmer weather climbs on in. Julianne was made famous from her victories on Dancing With The Stars and has decided to take a crack at country music. First of all she’s got the style, second of all she’s got the voice, and third of all she’s got the excitement and enjoyment in her performance. All she needs to do is make it to the home plate.

Julianne brings in a nice beat and decent production for a good time love song. The production seems a little underdone, but it actually works flawlessly with Julianne’s performance and throws her center stage in the action. Julianne certainly delivers. She with a real sense of enjoyment and happiness about meeting a boy for the first time and the song playing at the time won’t leave her alone. A little scapegoat to explain that the boy has been haunting her as well. It a very sneaky and very well done debut for this country cutie. I heard this song for the first time and played it three more times over just because it was so exciting and a generally good listen. Julianne sounds like she’s having fun and I believe that excitement rubs off real easily from this one.

I’m Liking it so far, her vocals aren’t the greatest, but they are good enough to get her by. I’m wondering wheather she’ll focus on Dancing With The Stars or her music career.
