Single Review: “Never Ever Gone” by Chris Cagle
After radio failed to pick up on “No Love Songs” Chris’s label decided to go for something more sentimental I guess, but they failed. As far as Chris goes with this song, he shows of his talent quite well with range testing verses and a powerful chorus, but that’s about all this song gives him and that’s not much considering what else he has brought to the table.
Chris needs a powerful and impressive balled to pull off a message like this, being haunted by the memory of a lost love. This song instead leaves the listener with a cliched message that is lost in the overproduced instrumental arrangement and lacks any real feel from Chris at all. It won’t be hard to pass this one up for replays of some of Chris’s more heartfelt and quality tunes like “I Breath In, I Breath Out” and “What A Beautiful Day”.
